The Hik-Connect app is a free surveillance system application developed by HIKVISION HQ. Designed for the end-users, this utility software allows you to access your cameras remotely and from your mobile phone. The app works with Hikvision series DVRs, NVRs, and IP cameras which support Cloud P2P function.
As with other security camera apps, Hik-Connect allows you to watch live surveillance videos and even playback previously recorded activities. Not only that, but it also notifies you whenever the alarm you set up is triggered. Be warned, though, as adding cameras to your account can be a pain.
What does the app offer? #
With Hik-Connect, users can access the live feed of their security cameras even while they are not at home. As a video management system software, it enables you to effectively monitor the IP cameras installed on your property from your mobile device. It provides real-time monitoring with PTZ control, so you can adjust the angle of your camera lens remotely. Besides live feed, it also allows you to play back recorded events.
More than video surveillance, this app also works as an alarm system for your property. It lets you arm the security control panel remotely. Moreover, it comes with a two-way intercom and even answers to doorbells and video intercom devices. Finally, whenever the alarms you set up are triggered, this app will instantly notify you with pictures and videos. Note, however, that it can flood you with notifications.
Setting up this app is easy. All you do is create an account and add devices to it. However, as mentioned, adding devices to your account can be a hassle. Sometimes, it requires you to close and relaunch the app whenever you add a device. Additionally, it sometimes switches the security cameras to basic resolution even though you set it to HD.
Is the app good? #
Overall, it is good to have the Hik-Connect app if you have IP cameras installed on your property. With this, you can monitor your house no matter where you are. Moreover, you can set up alarms and even get notifications from any intruder. However, setting up your devices can be a hassle. In addition, the app often fails to connect to your cameras. Worse still, it floods you with notifications.
Steps On How To Connect To Hik-Connect: #
Internet Connection Required For This Setting.
- Install Hik-Connect App From GOOGLE On Smartphone.
- After Install, Need To Create One Email Only For Hik-Connect Purpose (Example:aabbccdd@gmail.com).
- Register A New Account Under Hik-Connect & Login To Your Account Using Smartphone.
- After Login To Your Smartphone & Go To Device Management.
- Click On Add Button To Add And Link Your DVR To The Account You Logged On.
- Type The DVR Serial Number To Merge Your DVR With Hik-Connect. After Type Serial Number ,Please Click Add To Merge The DVR And The DVR Will Be Added.
- Please Follow The Steps Above To Connect The DVR To The Account.
