Note: Internet Explorer (IE) is less secure than other browsers and does not provide an updated browsing experience. Microsoft states that Internet Explorer has been disabled in Windows 11, and that Microsoft Edge is suggested instead.
Although Internet Explorer will not run on Windows 11, you may choose to enable the Internet Explorer Mode in Windows 11 using the following steps:
1. Open the browser and click the ellipsis button on the top-right corner and select Settings.
2. Select Default browser from the left column, then click the menu from the right to Allow sites to be reloaded in Internet Explorer mode.
3. Restart Microsft Edge.
You may also let Internet Explorer open sites in Microsoft Edge.
- Never – Always use Internet Explorer to access the website.
- Incompatible sites only – The websites will still load in Internet Explorer, but those that are developed for a modern browser may load in Microsoft Edge.
- Always – It will transition to Edge automatically, when using Internet Explorer to access a website.
