The picture above shows all the channels with the same problems, but sometimes you can have some of the cameras working and others that show the “No Resource” message. The problem is related to the camera configuration.

What causes the “No Resource” Message? #

Most of the time, the problem is related to the resolution.

If the Hikvision NVR supports 2MP cameras and you are trying to use a higher resolution camera with 4MP, for example, you will face this problem.

No worries, even if you have a higher resolution camera, you can adjust the configuration to make it work with the Hikvision NVR.

How to fix the Hikvision “No Resource” Issue? #

Step 1: Open the Main Menu.

Step 2: Click the “Record” Button.

Step 3: Open the Parameters Menu.

Step 4: Change the Resolution and click the “Apply” button.

You just need to reduce the record resolution to meet the NVR’s maximum capacity specification and the error will disappear.

There are other parameters in this menu, such as Frame Rate, Max Bit Rate, Video Encoding and Bit Rate Type. You can change these parameters as well.

Note: It’s recommended to change such parameters only if the resolution did not fix the problem, you can try changing one at a time to see if the error gets fixed.
